Emergency Services

If you have an emergency, please call 911 immediately. This will connect you with the Waldo County Dispatch Center, who will dispatch the appropriate services to respond to your emergency in the shortest possible time frame. This includes fire, police, ambulance, and all other emergency services.

In non-emergency situations, call 211 for information on all services available to you as a resident of the state of Maine.


Jackson Volunteer Fire Department
The Jackson Volunteer Fire Department is located in the municipal complex on Moosehead Trail (Route 7) along with the Town Office, the Jackson Learning Center & Historical Society (the Library), the Transfer Station, and the Sand Shed.

Burn permits may be obtained from the Fire Chief or the Deputy Fire Wardens when conditions permit. Burn Permits may also be obtained for free at maine.gov.
